It
is a sad fact of modern life that more and more children are experiencing
the breakdown of family relationship. In some areas as many as one
child in three has to learn to cope with problems which can affect
them for the rest of their lives.
Children react in different
ways to the problem but in all cases there will be an adverse effect.
Depression and a consequential effect on performance at school are
common outcomes.
Teachers,
parents and children all need to be able to cope with the situation.
'Coping with Family Change' brings together leading experts to give
advice and assist in developing strategies to help all concerned
with these difficult problems.
Much
of the help and advice to be found in the students section of the
programme is provided by children who have been through family change
and wish to stop others making the same mistakes as themselves.
